Keeping a clean and safe property for your guests is fundamental and now more than ever essential to protect your guests from COVID-19. As well as looking after your guests you mustn’t forget your cleaners. There’s something special about walking in winter, isn’t there? A brisk walk outdoors leaves you feeling healthy and refreshed. When it’s frosty outside and the air is clear, views can be spectacular too. If you’re staying at one of our lovely lodges or log cabins in Felmoor Park or Bockenfield Country Park between now and February, then the opportunities for some wonderful winter walks are countless, with easy access to miles of walks in woodland, on hills and along the coast. If you’re heading on holiday to Northumberland for the first time, then you are in for a treat, celestially speaking! We have some of the largest areas of dark sky in Europe. On 11th November 2018, the world commemorates a special Remembrance Sunday: 100 years since the guns fell silent on the Western Front, signalling the end of the First World War. We proudly pay tribute to all our military heroes. However, it’s not only the bravery of soldiers we want to celebrate. We also salute the courage and devotion of over twenty thousand dogs who served alongside British troops in the First World War, aiding the war effort with innate intelligence, devotion and loyalty. …gunpowder, treason and plot! For over 400 years, we have been lighting bonfires on this night to mark the ‘Gunpowder Plot’. Did you know that the tradition of Bonfire Night began the same year as Guy Fawkes and his fellow conspirators were captured? Fireworks will be lighting up the skies across Northumberland this weekend at a host of organised displays. This year, 5th November falls on a Monday, so most public events are on Sat 3rd or Sun 4th. Here are a few of the most spectacular ones for you to visit. [ 02/11/18 ]
