BUdle Bay free imageBudle Bay is located in North Northumberland.  Just one mile from the A1, this beautiful coastal area is
a popular place to visit for birdwatchers, particularly in the winter when you can expect to see thousands of
wildfowl and waders.

Once an extremely busy port in the times of King Henry III in the 13th Century, you will find some of the
remaining buildings that give you a glimpse into the industrial times. According to the useful guide by
Your Northumberland.  The name of Budle Bay was due to the hamlet having a Corn Mill. Its interesting to know
that some of the current buildings you will see date back to 1780. The Corn Mill has just recently been
redeveloped and turned into luxury apartments, the views across the bay are quite simply stunning and the development itself has been carefully designed to blend in with the surroundings.

We have a collection of properties ranging from 2 bedrooms to 4 bedrooms nestled in the dunes of Budle Bay, perfect for families who want to keep a close eye on their children whilst they prepare the BBQ, or for groups of friends who want to have those beach filled days of playing, sun bathing, BBQ’s and just general days of summer fun.

The cottages are just what you would imagine; think charm, character but with all the mod cons. The garden area or patio area, depending on the cottage you choose, is enclosed providing you with privacy and security for those with small children and dogs.

Our Budle Bay collection of lodges and cottages have their very own private stretch of beach, the views are simply breathtaking. The cottages are beautifully designed, spacious and some even come with their own infra-red sauna. Just don’t forget to bring your towelling robe and slippers. My favourite cottage is Pippistrelle, I love the bright and airy open plan living room with the wood burning stove, but the best bit, I can quite happily see myself cooking and entertaining my guests and all with a sea view. Perfect!

We have also teamed up with Adventure Northumberland so our guests can enjoy a 10% discount off any activity or equipment hire. Activities such as kayaking for the more adventurous – exploring the diverse landscape of our coast which includes rocky shores, reefs, coves, caves and tunnels and notable features including the spectacular Dunstanburgh castle, the wreckage of a World War 1 submarine, birdlife and the occasional dolphin!

For dog walkers, ramblers and photographers you won’t be disappointed, the private stretch of beach is beautiful.
Its a five mile walk around the bay but please do keep in mind of the tides and refrain from attempting to cross the
bay’s mouth even at low tide. We recommend the walk from Warren Mill heading towards Budle Bay via a track that leads you down to the beach. It is also possible to walk along the beach towards Bamburgh village, but again please take note of the tide.

In all, Budle Bay is a beautiful, picturesque and charming place to stay with breath taking views of the coastline. It’s truly a hidden gem but for how long?…
