What better way to spend a day than visiting this self declared ‘friendliest port’. A beautiful town nestled on the southern gateway of the Northumberland Coast home to the UKs only Puffiun Festival and soon to be home to Amble Harbour Village a new development boasting a seafront pathway from the Harbour to the Marina a seafood centre,15 retail ‘pods’ and various activities and events throughout the year. This is set to become a bustling and enjoayable place to visit.

Puffin - Farne IslandsFrom Amble you can take a puffin cruise to see the puffin colony on Coquet Island where you may also see such sea birds as the rare Roseate Terns, Sandwich Tern, Common Tern, Arctic Terns, Kittiwakes and Eider ducks and then on the South Shore of the island you will see the gorgeous seals of the Grey Seal colony!

If you visit on a Sunday you can browse the market a great place to pick up fresh produce and local wares and enjoy an ice cream in Spurelli Boutique Ice cream Parlour

If this all sounds a little tame there’s plenty of watersports on offer with a surf school, lessons in kayaking, windsurfing and sailing, and for a more gentle afternoon why not try a ‘Sunday Afternoon Paddle in the Coquet Estuary’.

There’s plenty of choice for food and drinks whether its fish and chips on the harbour, Superb Italian and seafood in Zecca or plain old great grub in The Old Storehouse or The Old Boat House youll find fresh fayre good quality and prices to suit all budgets.
