There is a multi sports court, a children's adventure play area and the bar/restaurant of the golf club is about a 20 minute walk through the woods and across the golf course, where you can relax with a glass in hand. (Pets and children welcome there too!)

A Weekend Break by Beverley Hoban

Myself, my husband and my Mam have just had a 3 day weekend break in 'The WilderNest', and we had a lovely relaxing time. The caravan was spotlessly clean, and was quite spacious compared to a lot of caravans. The main bedroom had an en suite, and the 2nd bedroom had 2 three foot wide beds. The main bathroom was also a shower, so no bath. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed - except for a tin opener. The hot tub was lovely and warm, and ready to use straight away. The outlook was onto the golf course, so lovely and private, and it was also positioned at the end of the road so no passing traffic. The site itself was very quiet - just what we wanted. There are no facilities on the park as such, just a children's play area, but there were two pop up vans parked at the entrance - one for burgers and hotdogs, and one for sweets. Didn't use either though so can't comment on the food. I wouldn't hesitate on returning to this caravan and site.

Last minute trip May 21 by Carl Brierley

We booked this stay last minute as our Scotland trip was cancelled the week before we were due to go. I understand why it was a bit more expensive than normal because it was last minute and staycations being popular. The caravan and hot tub was clean and ready to just being your stuff in and go. Only complaint was there was no cupboard space for any food ie Tins / packets crisps etc but seemed to be 2 cupboards of every size of glass and more thereof - you could probably reduce this to one cupboard as only sleeps 4. There is a curfew on the hot tub use of not before 10am in the morning which we were not aware of although we were told about the 10pm curfew at night. All in all a great last minute break the hot tub being the best bit of it.

We stayed at The Wildernest on the may bank holiday weekend and had a lovely time. The lodge is in a quiet part of the park overlooking the golf course. It provided everything for a very comfortable stay. The hot tub was checked every morning by a very friendly gentleman who loved the dogs. The only thing I would suggest is having a welcome pack with instructions for things like the dishwasher, Wifi etc. The wifi was very poor so maybe could do with upgrading but all in all we had a brilliant time and would definitely recommend.

This holiday home was in a great area in Percy Woods, so peaceful & just what we wanted. Nice neighbours in adjacent homes. Park well looked after, nice to see ducks with their babies in the park too. Very well looked after holiday home, clean, welcoming, well equipped with everything we needed, hot tub was excellent too. I have a bad back so i did think the mattress was too soft for me, but this would not stop me booking again. Great area for exploring too.

Just back from a wonderful 4 night break at The Wildernest as a family of 4. The accommodation is kitted out to exceptional standards and spotless throughout. The living area was so comfortable, airy and bright. I loved the integrated sound system, speakers in the ceiling. The master bedroom is a good size with large storage/wardrobe cupboard and en-suite. Fully equipped kitchen including washing machine, dishwasher and full size fridge/freezer. We loved the quiet corner of the park it was located in, peaceful with no passing traffic. We were lucky to have lovely weather during our stay… we had lazy mornings then spent our afternoons with trips to some of the coastal towns nearby (20-40mins drive), and spent our evenings in the hot tub until the sun went down which was amazing. There’s a guy who comes to check on the hot tub each morning. Overall we had an amazing few days and were sad to leave, wished we had booked 7 nights. We will definitely look to go back sometime soon. Don’t hesitate to book, you won’t be disappointed.

We had a lovely week staying here, we have stayed on the park previously but we all preferred this location, its lovely and peaceful with easy access to the golf course. One thing that would have made our stay better, we would love to have had access to, or been able to hire a buggy for golf, but although there are lots around this wasn't an option. The weather we had was fantastic which always helps, and we had lovely neighbours. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fantastic lodge with hot tub in quiet location. Everything you could need in lodge although no spare cupboard for groceries, but lots of glasses so may be worth condensing to leave some room. Would also be handy to have a lodge manual with things like WiFi code (as its small on router to read) what to do with hot tub and places to go etc. First night bedding was stained on arrival, looked like tea or coffee stain. We reported and it was changed for us. Had a lovely few days and would stay again.

Lodge in a very quiet excellent location within the park with easy access to golf course. Lodge very clean and hot tub is a great addition and also spotless. Overall no problems only minor gripes would be the diabolical wifi which unfortunately was virtually useless and definitely needs upgrading and also the sky box pictured in the photos doesn't actually work so tv channels very limited. However as I said minor gripes and wouldn't put me of recommending this Lodge. 9/10.

Lodge in a beautiful location but lacked the wow factor internally. Appeared clean but were disappointed as it didn’t smell pleasant. There were no cleaning products/air fresheners available to use. Not even a mop and disinfectant to freshen up the place ourselves. The hoover blew out a horrendous ‘smell of dog’ and didn’t pick up at all. Hot tub wasn’t the best regarding cleanliness either - to the point where some members of the families wouldn’t get in to use it. I’ve stayed in many pet friendly lodges/cottages including those with hot tubs and the standard has always been high. This was by far the worst and in addition the most expensive costing In excess of £200 per night!! Very disappointed. The shop and club house aren’t on site either and a a considerable distance in the village. There was no welcome pack with information about the lodge or the site which I must admit was a first for me also!!

We had a lovely time, the location of the caravan is brilliant. It was lovely to be able to sit and relax in the hottub well watching the deer, ducks and rabbits just walk past. We did find that one of the baking trays hadn't been cleaned and was full with grease but other than that the caravan was spotless and we are looking forward to returning.

This was our 5th visit to Percy Wood, the position of this lodge was perfect for us, just at the edge of the wood, nice & peaceful over looking the golf course. Lots of wildlife to watch, deer's, pheasants, hares, rabbits, ducks etc. The lodge was comfortable with a lovely safe wrap around veranda with sunken hot tub. It wasn't as well equipped as some of the other lodges we have stayed in & we found that with 3 adults & a dog it was probably the smallest. If I was to go on my own I would consider staying again but only because of the location.

This was our 2nd visit to the WilderNest. It’s situated at the bottom end of Percy Wood & for us it’s in a perfect position. Lovely view across the golf course & right next to the wood. It was clean & well equipped, great sound system, Wi-Fi was hit & miss but this didn’t really bother me, I was there with my elderly mum & it was all about relaxation. Lovely hot tub although I gave it a miss this time round. I’m sure we’ll return again sometime.

This is a beautiful lodge in an idyllic location but room for improvement :- the balcony could do to be cleaner, the hot tub felt greasy to the touch which isn't a nice thought. No pillow or mattress protectors and could have done with some oven gloves. And no information folder which to me is pretty important. So although it is lovely I feel these are quite important factors that can be easily rectified as these lodges are not cheap to stay here so expect better really.

We were pleasantly surprised when we entered the Lodge. Clean and well presented. It was very comfortable and spacious and well equipped. The only things lacking were a clothes line/airer (found plenty of pegs but no line!) and a very essential item - a corkscrew!! Luckily I had an ex Boy Scout who could get into a bottle of vino without one! We will definitely be back in the future.
