Minor issues but great holiday by Guest

Reviewed On: 2024-06-30

Another fabulous holiday overall just a few minor issues with the accommodation which would have improved our stay. We have stayed here previously & had no issues however, the hot tub jets did not work. I’m not sure if they had been reported previously. A man came out but was unable to fix the issue so we had to use it with no jets which meant just sitting in a warm pool. The shower tray in the en-suite had draining issues. There was only one plastic flute for drinks in the hot tub which was no good for 4 adults. The fridge we struggled with as it’s a small under counter fridge so shopping & drinks for 6 people for 5 days was almost impossible to squeeze in. There was no mirror in the double bedroom or single bedroom to get ready in. We had to keep using the other double bedroom for make-up, hair etc which was inconvenient with 6 people. No battery in the clock which drove me insane all week! Overall we had a good holiday & we will return but we’re disappointed with these elements.

Spacious and comfortable, but lots of little issues by Victoria Hynd

This lodge has seen better days. There were small cleaning issues, like finger marks on the windows and there were, for us, bigger problems like the hot tub not functioning properly. There were also multiple light blubs out when we arrived. We reported everything and 2x bulbs were replaced. That same day, the heating stopped working, but we had lost confidence in the maintenance person, so we just used the lounge heater for the rest of the week. We would not return to this lodge as the high price does not reflect the standard of cleaning and upkeep. Lovely park and area though.

Overall a good stay. Beds comfy. Good tv and sofa in lounge. Warm accommodation, well decorated. Good location to explore Northumberland. Kitchen would benefit from more glassess well as a cafetiere. Ensuite shower very low pressure, the main bathroom shower over bath much better. Outdoor gate and decking could do with maintenance. Hot tub was enjoyable, but showing signs of age.

First impressions of exterior very poor IE windows and decking dirty needed cleaning had to find and use a hand brush and pan. In comparison to the interior which was not cleaned to high standards oven, toilet etc. Sheets very clean but too small Otherwise excellent property and location just require a bit of tlc in cleaning department. Furniture decor spot on would definitely return if attention to detail addressed.

This is a great lodge that is very spacious with lovely views. If I was being super critical I’d say a small screen around the hot tub would be a great addition to shield from the road along with mirrors in both bedroom 2 & 3. Overall though, I would certainly recommend.

Great view of the golf course, however the golfers in the family were disappointed with the condition of the course. They only played once in the week. The only pub/club house was too far to walk.

The property is in a great position. And overall is very nice. One minor criticism is the outer area could do with a spruce up, as already pointed out in another review. And another one is the essential supplies. They either should be supplied or not. As a rule we have taken all our own stuff. The coffee and sugar that were in the canisters had seen better days. And there was no salt. Part that the kitchen was well supplied with utensils and crockery. There were a few minor plumbing issues which were quickly resolved, Martin is a credit to the company. The hot tub was fantastic and although it isn't screened off, because it was so quiet that wasn't an issue. A tip to anyone who uses a home delivery supermarket service will find the property is not listed on the post code list, and although I did get advice from the provider, who put the notes on for me. The instructions were passed on. But luckily I was sat outside and watched them go to a another property. And managed to get them to come to the right place.

The lodge was spacious, well equipped, clean & modern. The lodge is situated on the edge of the golf course with uninterrupted views of the woods & beyond. This was our 1st stay at South Vista but our 8th stay at Percy Wood, all the lodges we have stayed in have something different to offer whether it be location, views or size. South Vista is top for space & view. We didn't use the hot tub so not really able to comment on that although I will say it isn't screened off so it isn't the most private one we've had, the way it's positioned you are open to the elements & on view to anyone walking/driving down The Cedars. Would I stay here again........ most definitely

Excellent, quiet park. Thought it would be more secluded though, very clever photos gave that impression. This was the only thing we felt was negative. We had a fabulous time, just unwinding and lying in hot tub. Bedrooms/beds very comfortable and quite spacious for type of cabin. We will definitely be going back. Park staff excellent, they even brought spare batteries when TV remote went off. Definitely recommend this place.

Cabin was very nice, beds very comfortable! Few cobwebs here & there cleaners could have dusted a little better! (Sorry when you’ve been working in hospitality for a lot of years you notice things straight away) Hot tub not clean full of debris but didn’t stop the kids using it, it could do with a fence put up to stop public & cars looking at you! Guy came 6.30 every morning & switched it on but I never saw him lift the full lid & clean it & collect the debris! Apart from that, very nice cabin

This is our 3rd stay at percy woods and it didn't disapoint! The cabin was HUGE! Very comfy and spacious, very clean...! Having the hot tub on the decking as opposed to down on the grass is so much better, It's situated in a quiet part of the park, overlooking the golf course, south facing so you can imagine after a long day out at Bamburgh or amble, to sit back in that and enjoy the last of the sun , well it was amazing! We will definitely be booking this one again!

The park itself is quiet but, there is loads to do in the surrounding areas and our two 12yr boys really enjoyed wondering in the nearby woods in the rain. The lodge was really lovely. Great cooking facilities. It is also in a good location to explore Northumberland. The hot tub could be improved by being moved around so the lid opens to give some privacy. As when in the hot tub there is no privacy whatsoever as you are pretty much overlooked by loads of other lodges and people walking their dogs. Also if it’s windy it’s tough to stay in to hot tub so could do with some attention as it’s a great feature.
