Lodge was nice and clean and well decorated. There was a problem with the hot tub taking a while to hear but once heated was lovely. Some of the dining room chairs were in a poor state of repair which is not acceptable given the price of the lodge. The pub on site was great however I feel the park is quite run down and no facilities to purchase milk etc. within walking distance. Loved the lodge but don't think we would return to Felmoor Park. The lodge was expensive for what was there

About us (the reviewers) - 30-25 year old couple from London, couple of 60 year old from Sunderland and a couple of 32-36 year olds from Middlesborough. Attending as a promotion celebration / parents anniversary / because its a beautiful area. We visited at the beginning of February 2020. We have visited this site before but this was our first time attending Skye View Lodge. The arrival was as smooth as ever, the key safe code was emailled before hand and worked first time. The cabin itself is laid in its own plor with a hot tub to the rear. All of the cabin was clean and comfortable. We had an ssue where the side door stuck, informed the owner and an instant reply solved the issue we had ( not much of an issue as you can access the patio doors anyway). The hot tub is maintained daily by the staff on site and we used the tub probably twice a day for the 5 day period we were there. The bedrooms all had their own TV which was more than adequet for what we required. There was no internet provided - not an issue at all, the local pub/lodge does have wifi free and sometimes it does reach the back of the property but we had good signal on EE, Vodafone, 3hree. Plus it could be a good excuse to disappear from the radar and actually see your family and friends when not behind a screen! There is enough room to fit 2 cars if you park carefully as not to damage the grass but it is advertised as 1 car parking spot. This is not an issue again as the lodge with car parking is a 5 minute walk (this includes my disabled father). The overall experience for Skye View is that I would definately visit again with my family or even just ourselves. The 3 bedrooms are adequet sized and the mattresses are surprisingly comfrtable (in relation to my home matress it was also a good sleep). The living area is nice size and the kitchen has all that you need. Theres an iron and ironing board. Washing machine. oven. hob. I am rambling and I think I have highlighted that we enjoyed the experience in full.

From the outside the caravan is a little dated with paint flaking off and a wobbly gate, the inside was ok but again needs some touch ups with having the lockdown you would think an ideal time to make sure the place was in top top order especially if you are charging over £600 for a 3 night stay on a place that has no WiFi and no sky tv.

Nice south facing lodge by Bryan Phipps

This is a nice large south facing lodge that gets sun all day. One of the let downs is there is no WiFi but we got by. The biggest problem we had was the hot tub it was not clean it had quite a bit of Sandy residue at the bottom and dirty tide marks around the sides. We brought this up with the pool cleaner the next day only to be told rudely that it was probably off our bathing suit’s, like we were fresh from a building site. She did not clean it and left it like that the whole stay. Very disappointed as I say it is a nice lodge.

Free WiFi by Shaun Howeth

Beautiful lodge which is very handy for the “Crazy Horse Saloon”. When we booked it stated that there was free WiFi in the lodge, we looked everywhere in the lodge for the router but couldn’t find it (I found the empty box for it but no router), eventually I had to get in touch with “Keith” who originally told us that there wasn’t any WiFi in the lodge, then messaged back to say that the WiFi had been fitted 4-5 weeks ago without his knowledge and that someone must’ve taken the router, he very kindly brought us his to use which was very much appreciated. The only negative thing was that I had to unblock the shower on the first night, as the filter was completely blocked with hair causing the water to nearly overflow, I was the first one of us to use the shower so I know it wasn’t my wife or daughter’s hair, and I don’t have any ! The hot tub was brilliant, and the people maintaining it were round every morning to clean and check it. All in all I would definitely recommend “Skye View Lodge” to anyone, we had a wonderful stay, thanks very much. Shaun.

Arrived at the property on the Friday and realised there was no running water, but this was easily sorted by phoning the site manager. On arrival the Hot tub wasn't hot, but this ok as it was 25C outside. There was a couple of minor issues within the cabin the bracket off the wardrobe door was popped off, couple of marks on the couch and carpet, but I did not need to complain as it did not affect my holiday wear and tear happens over the years. On the Monday we had no water until 3oclock that day as its change over day and all the hot tubs get filled, which meant we couldn't go for showers until the afternoon. The food and drinks at the restaurant on site was amazing and reasonable priced. Overall it was amazing and so was the weather and can't wait to return.

Skye View is a comfortable lodge. The accommodation was clean and spacious and enough for our needs as a party of six. The hot tub was also a welcome bonus after a few long days out and about exploring various places in Northumberland. Felmoor Park where the lodge is situated is a great base for exploring the local area.

It's a nice lodge, with a lovely hot tub. Overall we had a nice stay despite the bad weather (winds and hailstones). The lodge could have been cleaner, there was frozen spilled milk all down the freeze, and found food and old vape under the sofa, old balloon left on a chair, and also a dirty tea towel left on an other chair.

Fantastic location for our trip to Northumberland. The lodge was beautiful and although seemed like it needed a little attention was perfect for our stay. The beds in the twin room were a little uncomfortable and the fridge needed repairing. But these were little things and didn’t impact the weekend. The hot tub was amazing and we would definitely use Hemera Holidays again.

The hot tub area was very private as also at the back. The living area was lovely and cosy and the beds were very comfortable.

Turn down the heat by Kim Harris

We had a lovely stay in this lodge, it is very spacious and comfortable. The deck is at the back of the lodge and very private with a large space and a hot tub. The only complaint I have is that the temperature of the hot tub was far too hot at 40 degrees. I have a hot tub at home and keep mine between 37 -38 which is a nice comfortable heat. You cannot alter the temperature either as it is pre set at this temperature. I have to say this is not unique to this lodge as I have stayed in various lodges on this site and have experienced the same issue. The lodge itself is well equipped with everything you need and is larger than the standard lodge. They even have Netflix available on the TV. The bathroom is also a decent size with a good powerful shower. The beds are also very comfortable. The lodge itself is in a good location not far from the on site pub and also the lake, it is also south facing so will be a sun trap in the summer. I would return to this lodge but would request that the temperature of the hot tub is turned down. I have booked through Hemera holidays a few times now and they are very helpful, friendly and efficient.

Christmas break by HEATHER LIDDLE

Reviewed On: 2022-12-28

This is only my second time staying in a lodge. The first time was a brand new lodge and my family was the first to stay. It didn’t have a hoover or a mop which was a nightmare when there is a toddler in the family. So when we went to Skye View we packed everything, like we were moving house. Skye View was lovely. It had everything, including a hoover and a mop. It was a really cosy, spacious lodge with a huge decking area and private hot tub. Usually we wouldn’t do much cooking while we are away, but it was Christmas and we couldn’t get booked into the restaurant onsite for Christmas lunch. We had already packed pans, steamer, serving dishes etc. The lodge equipment crockery and utensils are more than adequate for cooking basic meals, but we would have been stuck if we hadn’t taken our own to enable us to cook a Christmas feast. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine, microwave, wall oven and conductor hob. It also has really creaky floors throughout which wasn’t a problem until trying to creep around on a morning while everyone else was still in bed. The lodge is in a good location, it was a two minute walk from the bar/restaurant but in a really quiet area. The decking faces trees rather than another lodge which is great for privacy. It also has wifi which was a bonus. The food in the Crazy Horse Saloon was really nice and the staff were really friendly. We originally booked via a travel agent then nearer the time of the stay we were contacted by Hemera to finalise arrangements and sort pre departure arrangements. The team were brilliant. We have had a lovely time for our first Christmas break away and have booked to go back to Skye View in the summer, we have booked direct with Hemera this time. I price checked with other companies like Hoseasons who were over £200 more for the same period I have book.

Second time booking through Hemera holidays and 2nd lodge we have stayed in. Lodge is beautiful and fully equipped with all kitchen needs. Beds comfy sofa nice to relax on an evening, internet works fab in lodge too. Hot tub was lovely and nice big table on decking and really private. We would defo return to this lodge and enjoyed our stay again. Fab spot close to pub and such a beautiful site. Things to make stay a little better… other lodge has board games and books for them raining days and this lodge doesn’t. Bathroom shower is powerful but the shower needs a little attention as loose on the wall. Fridge has a leak which is looks like owners are aware but haven’t fixed so had to clean up water one day! Also no welcome pack which I’ve had in other lodges and my parents stayed in another lodge on site and got bottle of Prosecco etc In welcome pack. Just a nice touch. Overall none of the recommendations effected our holiday but just extra touches could Make it that little bit more special.
