Northumberland has some of the best beaches in the UK, more than 30 miles of mostly wide, sandy beaches, with hidden coves and a wealth of rock pools to explore. Dogs are permitted on nearly all beaches throughout the year.
And of course the thing that sets Northumberland apart from other UK Counties - Castles! Over 70 Castles / Castle sites to visit from Warkworth to Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh to Berwick, from ruins to fully functional with visitor centres, there's a Castle here for you!
A boat trip to the Farne Islands is a trip you won't forget, seeing the UK's largest grey seal colony, as well a a wide variety of seabirds. Another great place to go bird watching is the national nature reserve on Holy Island, or the hides at Druridge Bay, Low Hauxley and Craster.
Check the tide times for a safe crossing over to Holy Island and explore the Priory, the Castle, beach and rock pools and the village itself - don't forget to take a sample of the world famous Lindisfarne Mead home with you.
Some of the larger coastal towns are great places to get active - Beadnell, Seahouses and Amble all host water sport activities, or venture inland to Keilder Water for a host of watersports, cycling trails and walking routes.
Also inland there are Roman forts and archeological sites galore, walk alongside the world famous Roman Wall, visit the tranquil towns or Corbridge and Hexham - Hexham Racecourse is one of the most beautiful courses in the UK if horse racing is your passion

A lovely, spacious lodge in a great location on the edge of Percy Wood golf course. The park is quiet and well tended. A well kept lodge with everything you could possibly need on your stay - and more. A credit to the owner. The welcome gift was a lovely touch too! The park is in a good location to visit Alnwick and the coast We hope to return to this lodge. We would definitely use Hemera Holidays again as they were very helpful and their customer care was excellent!

We had the best week at Hillside View. The lodge is set in a really peaceful and scenic location with beautiful views over the Percy Wood golf course, and hills beyond. The lodge itself was just perfect, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed and more for a comfortable stay. A perfect base for anyone wanting to visit local tourist spots such as Banburgh, Seahouses and Lindisfarne. We will definitely return in the future. The customer service received from Hemera Holidays was second to none.

holiday was fantastic but couldn't get a hold of our contact Nicola when trying to report a wooden panel had blown off at front of decking had to contact Hemera Holidays direct to report so just thought if it had been an emergency no reply from our contact even after leaving a message on her phone. Service from Hemera Holidays direct have always found to have great service.

Stayed in hillside view September 2021 - the lodge was nice and clean. However could do with some paint touch up in the dining area and carpet had quiet a bad stain on it - however it had been cleaned up but left a mark where it had been. Everything worked as it should. Could do with a bigger tv and a remote that you can make out what the buttons are for. Also a working tv in bedrooms would be nice. There was 1 tv but no Ariel connected to it, the main problem was the noisy boiler - it really interrupted sleep being next door to the main bedroom. The booming of the lodge was very good and straight forward and would defiantly use hemera holidays again. Only just booking it the day prior to going. I would not probably use this lodge again due to the above listed.

Had a great stay in this lovely spacious lodge. Everything was extremely clean and there were lots of extras that were helpful to have, e.g. toilet rolls, bin bags, cling film, soap etc, everyday items that you can often forget to take so this was very much appreciated. The large hot tub on the deck overlooked the golf course and was maintained daily, we used it most days. The golf course itself could be maintained better however there had been a lot of rain before our stay which affected the condition. The owner had acknowledged this problem and was kind enough to help arrange another game at a nearby golf course which was very much appreciated. The TV in the lounge was quite small, we would have preferred a Smart TV and DVD player especially as there is no entertainment on site however we would still return to this lodge. Hemera Holidays were also very friendly and helpful with questions prior to our stay.
