Wee One - Hot Tub - Log cabin - Scotland
A wonderful romantic escape for just 2 adults looking for a peaceful break away. This is a cute and quirky log cabin with a private hot tub set under a covered pergola. You’re less than a mile from the village of Ladybank where there is a pub and if you want to venture further, there is plenty places to visit , like Cupar, Falkland, St Andrews and more. Part of the appeal here is being surrounded by countryside with local woodland walks nearby, so its a quiet location and ideal to come and relax and unwind or chill in the hot tub surrounded by twinkly solar lights in the evenings.
The cabin has one bedroom with a comfy Kingsize bed, dressing table and chair, an en-suite shower room with a great shower and you gain access to the secluded hot tub outside via patio doors from the bedroom. There is a large open-plan lounge/kitchen which has a sofa, dining table & chairs plus a TV. The kitchen area is equipped with a 2 ring ceramic hob, combi oven/grill/microwave, under counter fridge/freezer as well as a toaster, kettle, crockery, pans and utensils for making meals. If you need to use a washing machine or dryer, then a separate shared laundry room is available next door. Free WI-FI keeps you in touch should you want to – or why not block out the world for a few days!
All towels and linen are supplied, beds are made up for your arrival and waffle robes are available for use when using the hot tub. Eco friendly toiletries are provided.
Your covered private hot tub is in an enclosed area at the side of the bedroom and in order to respect neighbouring guests, we ask you to vacate the hot tub by 10pm and not to play loud music around the tub and for the same reason, no pets or children can be accommodated in here.The aim is to create a peaceful retreat in which to relax and unwind.
Bringing the car is recommended although you can walk to Ladybank. There is much to see and do in surrounding areas like Falkland, Glenrothes & St Andrews which are all within easy driving distance.‘Wee One’ is one of two terraced log cabin apartments set in the small courtyard has it own private entrance.
General: No Smoking – there is a designated smoking area situated at the front gate.
Parking for 1 car per cabin apartment.No Candles or naked flames inside the log cabin.No Vaping in the buildings or around the hot tub.
Free range Hens wander freely.
Internet: Free WIFI is available.
Kitchen: Open plan kitchen/living area. Kitchen has a 2 ring ceramic hob, combi oven/grill/microwave. A small under the counter fridge/freezer. Toaster, kettle, crockery, pans and utensils for cooking.
Dining: Table and chairs for 2 in open-plan kitchen/living area.
Living: Open-plan area contains sofa, TV, coffee table.
Bedrooms: One bedroom with kingsize bed, a hairdryer, wardrobe and iron.
Bathrooms: En-suite shower room.
Pets: No pets allowed in Wee One.
Outside: Garden table & chairs for two. Private Hot Tub.
HOT TUB: Hours of use – between 11.30am and 10pm. Music not permitted around the tub; guests must shower before use and appropriate footwear and swimwear is recommended.
The hot tub is subject to maintenance on occasion and may be unavailable during your stay due to unforeseen circumstances. If the tub cannot not be used due to inclement weather or unforeseen damage/repairs, no cash alternative will be offered.
The tub cannot be used on check out day.
All players will be provided with original hickory clubs, an old golf bag, together with balls and tees that represent the early 20th century golfing experience. The current all-in price for play on the nine hole course is around £25 per person and includes the following: 5 original hickory clubs, golf balls, 'reddy' tees and an old golf bag, A nip of whisky or port to help get into the spirit of the 'roaring twenties' prior to teeing off, 'Da Anderson' ginger beer and shortbread on completion of the round. Min. 2 players per round.
Ladybank Golf Course - Ladybank is used as a qualifying course for The Open, and is one of the best inland 18 hole course you can play – just a mile down the road.
Horse Riding: Barbarafield Riding School - The hacks are very popular as all experiences can be catered for on all the routes. The hacks go through the 300-plus acres of farmland owned by the Berwick family and the ride can be split into groups in the fields so as the experienced riders can get a canter round the field while the novices or beginners can take a short cut for a walk and a trot to catch up. Instruction is given as and when required.
Walking: The Lomond Hills Country Park
Whether it's wee walk to blow away the cobwebs or a right proper hike, the 2 Lomond Hills offer breathtaking views from the top, right over to Edinburgh and East Lothian. Perfect for dogs too.
Restaurants & Bars :
- The Golf Inn in Ladybank (1 mile). Lovely village pub with cosy, friendly atmosphere.
- The Village Inn in Pitlessie (1.5 miles) - Good pub food and a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. Closed Mondays.
- Shenai Indian Restaurant in Cupar (4 miles) - Quite simply fabulous food!
- The Kettlebridge Inn in Kettlebridge (2 miles) - Lovely Italian menu, nice beer garden.
?Falkland The hunting estate grounds are fantastic for family walks! Find Maspie Den waterfall on one of the estate walks. Enjoy amazing, organic veggie food at Pillars of Hercules log cabin cafe, tucked in the woods. Falkland Palace is an impressive Renaissance building set in the heart of Falkland, at the foot of the Lomond Hills. It was once a favoured place of retreat and leisure for the Stuart Kings and Queens of Scotland, including Mary Queen of Scots. There are some amazing little gift shops, including The Fayre Earth gift shop, full of fairtrade, recycled gems - very unique.
St Andrews Only 15 miles away. History, the cathedral, castle, beaches and of course, the Old Course! Try the wee East sands beach too if you don't fancy the long beach near the golf course. It's quieter and not far from the castle and cathedral.
- Raith Lake Trout Fishery (Kirkcaldy) - Fly fishing for rainbow and blue trout (and tiger trout if you are lucky!).
- Lomond Hills Fishery (Leslie) - Fly, bait or spin.
- Craigluscar Fishery - Bait, fly fishing.
- Cameron Reservoir (St Andrews Angling Club) - Fly fishing.
- Goldenloch Fishing (Cupar) - Fly fishing.
Cairnie Fruit Farm, Cupar: Outdoor fruit farm atop a big hill outside Cupar. Big maze made of maize in late summer. Big outdoor play area, trampolines etc. Closed from end Oct to March.
Muddy Boots Farm and Playbarn, Balmalcolm: Just down the road in Balmalcolm, family owned Muddy Boots is great for toddlers and primary kids. Grass sledging, go karts, lots of farm animals and one of the biggest outdoor bouncing pillows around! Very funky interiors in the cafe and a central log burner for those chilly days.
The Scottish Deer Centre, Cupar This is home to an amazing variety of wild animals. Come and see different species of deer from around the world. Meet 'Stobo' their black Highland Cow, their rare breed Soay Sheep and come face to face with native Red Foxes. Daily bird of prey demonstrations.
The Byre Theatre, St Andrews A family friendly Theatre with a Cafe / Restaurant.

Shops: Ladybank has 2 mini-mart convenience stores with Post Office, Butchers and Chemist. Cupar has Tesco, Lidl, Aldi supermarkets and a regular Farmers Market.

Nearest Village: Ladybank. The village has a country pub, shops, 2 cafes/deli, butchers, doctors surgery and main line train station and is approximately 1 mile away.
Public Transport: Train station in Ladybank (for trains to Dundee, Edinburgh, Perth, Tweedbank).
Taxi Services – need to be pre-booked. Falkland Taxis is recommended.

Just back last week from having 5 lovely days staying at the Wee One. Accommodation was very good. It had everything you needed. Nice clean living-room ,bedroom,(comfy bed) bathroom and kitchen (lots of utensils) . Owners are very friendly and welcoming. Lots of places to visit in the area. we will definitely be back A little tip- If you use the hot tub a lot, take plenty towels and a pair of flip flops. You will love it here.

The Wee one log cabin was ideal for 2 people, spacious and had everything we needed. Amazing value for money compared to other places in Scotland. Will definitely be recommend to others for future use.
